I had the crunchy shredded beef tacos and they were fabulous. Juicy, well seasoned meat and tons of cheese/lettuce. They were huge. Should've ordered one! :)
Nice hole in the wall as they say. Your food was great but your cash register lady must greet everyone the same. I'm a hard working man with tattoos, everyone else was greeted with a smile except for me. Discrimination at its best. I won't be visiting this location ever again. "NOT TATTOO FRIENDLY.... I'm a paying CUSTOMER and I feel I should be treated the same as everyone else.
I don't want to talk about the food. But I will say this : I've lived in San Diego my whole life, and it sucks that so many Mexican food places have horrible customer service. The woman in the cash register literally didn't even look me in my eyes. When I started speaking spanish, she actually looked offended. When I finished ordering, she went to the guys on the grill and started talking and laughing up a storm. Obviously no one should assume to be treated like friends/family . BUT is customer service not a requirement anymore?NOT KIDDING: I ordered tacos and a large horchata. I was the only one in the taco shop. After the food was done she handed it to me, gave me salsas. And stared at me like...WHAT? I said, I ordered a large horchata : She asked the cook in Spanish if I really ordered that and looked for my receipt right in front of my face. Seriously! How did you forget the only order in the store not 10 minutes prior? Unless she thought that I was lying about a large horchata 😒

Reviews
Rolando's Taco Shop is a mixed bag of reviews, with some customers praising the delicious and generous portions of food, highlighting items like crunchy shredded beef tacos and massive burritos. However, there are complaints about inconsistent service, including issues with unfriendly or discriminatory behavior from staff members. Despite these drawbacks, many patrons appreciate the quick service, fresh ingredients, and reasonable prices at this cozy hole-in-the-wall spot.

Nice little hole in the wall, with great service, great food, a clean and homey dining area, and super fast service. You can hear the person in the back cooking your food fresh when you order. 😋
Very decent prices! The food served is fresh, taste good and comes in good sized portions. The service is great and the food is ready very quickly.
